Drawing With Psychological Approach. Options For Drawing

Options For Drawing
There I am adding three different options how could be made self-portrait using different techniques of drawing from a psychological viewpoint.

Option No. 1: line drawing; I.G.

First one is made using a simply, soft graphite pencil thinking about real perception of myself.  Whereas here was not enough my imagination, I have taken a mirror to draw what I see.

At the end having visual results it is obvious for myself that I did not recognize my facial features. However, an aim was not to repeat reality, but more relay on inner connection with myself in terms 'who I am'?  The drawing is showing an emotional state of sadness echoed in eyes, lips are tight indicating high resistance under pressure, and hair style reflects self-discipline and high self-control.

Option No. 2:  Painting, pastels, felt pen; I.G.

Second one is made switched the graphite pencil to acrylic painting, pastels and a felt pen. The mirror was put in its place safely and I thought about imaginative me. I used mix techniques very fast, not allowing stop and think for myself.
When I have finished a last line, a portrait 'tells' again an own story trough the usage of conscious and unconscious balancing of the mind.  Eyes are wide opened, but not looking straight at a viewer that refers a reasoning personality.  Painting traces over the face might exhibit complex and multiple thinking. Drawn bold line hairs indicate inner strength. The whole image has got something furious.

Option No. 3: Yeallow, red ink; I.G.

A third image I have made with graphic red and yellow inks incorporating past-cut  (collage) techniques.

The drawing looks really bright of the impact of chosen collors. It was made using restricted time and an unconscious chosen colour pallete. Final results bit shocked me. A face is cut in two parts what the psychiatry medicine might say about a double personality. Eyes are broad opened, red veins creates sense of horror. They are looking down as showing a critical acceptance of the outside world. The image seems scary itself and bit wild.

In conclusion, drawings are made incorporating not only different medias but thinking about a subject matter - psychological approach to drawing. It is might be used for creative drawing to develop an artistic personal statement.
